Bueng Bua Boardwalk with Lotus Pond And Khao Daeng Canal

Embark on a breathtaking journey through Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, exploring two of its most picturesque sites: Bueng Bua Boardwalk with Lotus Pond and Khlong Khao Daeng.

Start your adventure at Bueng Bua, home to Thailand’s largest freshwater marsh and a breathtaking lotus pond. During peak blooming seasons, the pond transforms into a stunning sea of pink and white lotus flowers, creating a picture-perfect scene against the towering limestone mountains of Thung Sam Roi Yot. A 1 km wooden boardwalk winds through the marsh, offering a peaceful walk surrounded by nature. This wetland, designated as a Ramsar site, provides habitat for numerous bird species, including the striking purple swamphen, making it a prime destination for birdwatchers and photographers.

Next, take a scenic longtail boat ride along Khlong Khao Daeng, a tranquil canal flowing from the national park to the Gulf of Thailand. Surrounded by lush mangrove forests and towering limestone formations, this area is often compared to Guilin, China, for its otherworldly beauty. As you cruise through the calm waters, spot unique rock formations, including a crocodile-shaped mountain, and observe wildlife such as macaques, langurs, and sword-clawed crabs.

The best time for the boat ride is in the late afternoon, but morning trips offer a cooler, peaceful experience.
