At Aleenta Phuket – Phang Nga Resort & Spa, we have the pleasure of calling one of Thailand’s most beautiful regions our home. Nestled along the unspoilt sands of Natai Beach, we’re perfectly placed for guests who want to explore the best of both Phuket and Phang Nga — whether that means chasing sunsets, discovering hidden temples, indulging in local flavours or simply unwinding by the sea.
If you’re planning your visit, here’s our guide to the places and experiences that capture the heart of this sun-kissed island.
Sun Kissed Beaches
Phuket’s coastline is famous for good reason. With over 30 beaches to choose from, each one has its own unique character — from secluded coves to lively shores.
- Freedom Beach is often described as a hidden paradise, accessible only by longtail boat or a jungle trail. Its soft white sands and turquoise waters feel worlds away from the bustle of Patong nearby.
- Banana Beach, on the island’s northwest coast, is a peaceful spot shaded by swaying palm trees. It’s a lovely place to swim or snorkel, featuring a single beach restaurant and a handful of massage beds set under the trees.
- Kata Noi Beach is ideal for families or couples after a quieter alternative to Kata Beach. The water is gentle, the sand is soft, and the nearby viewpoint offers a sweeping vista of three curving bays.
- Laem Singh Beach has long been a favourite for those in the know. Although it’s more secluded than some, it’s well worth the walk for those seeking a postcard-perfect stretch of sand.
And of course, there’s Natai Beach — our own tranquil sanctuary. Just steps from our resort, this unspoilt stretch is known for its peace, golden sand, and extraordinary sunsets.
Cultural Treasures
Phuket isn’t only about beaches — its spiritual heritage is equally captivating. The island is home to nearly 30 Buddhist temples, each offering a unique glimpse into Thai culture.
- Wat Chalong is Phuket’s most revered temple. Rich in history and deeply respected by locals, it’s a beautiful place to reflect, give thanks, or take in the architecture.
- Wat Khao Rang sits on a small hill overlooking the town, home to Phuket’s first golden Buddha statue. It’s often quieter than other temples, offering a peaceful and meditative atmosphere.
- Wat Phra Thong, known for its half-buried Buddha statue, is wrapped in legend. Local folklore tells of a curse on anyone who tried to dig it out — it now rests peacefully within the temple walls, deeply revered by islanders.
Shop Till You Drop
Whether you’re looking for local handicrafts, fashion, or food, Phuket offers some excellent spots to browse.
- Jungceylon Shopping Mall in Patong offers a diverse range of shops, from big-brand stores to local boutiques, as well as restaurants, cinemas, and beauty salons.
- For something more local, the Phuket Weekend Market (also known as Naka Market) is an open-air treasure trove of vintage clothing, street snacks, and quirky souvenirs.
- Old Phuket Town is one of our favourite places for an afternoon stroll. With its Sino-Portuguese buildings, art galleries, and artisan boutiques, it blends charm with creativity.
For something truly special, visit the Jim Thompson Thai Silk Shop, which offers beautifully crafted textiles and accessories from one of Thailand’s most iconic heritage brands.
Gastronomic Delights
Dining in Phuket is a journey in itself, from vibrant street food to elegant fine dining. One of our proudest contributions to this culinary landscape is Seasons, our plant-based restaurant here at Aleenta. Seasons Restaurant celebrates the flavours of Thailand and beyond, with vegan and vegetarian menus crafted around seasonal ingredients, a zero-waste approach, and total nourishment.
Beyond our walls, some standout options include:
- Acqua Restaurant, led by Chef Alessandro Frau, presents refined Italian cuisine in a sleek, contemporary setting on the Andaman coast.
- DeDos Restaurant, where French technique meets Asian inspiration in a unique and intimate dining space.
- Thong Dee The Kathu Brasserie is a warm and welcoming establishment, renowned for its diverse menu, generous portions, and exceptional service.
Spa & Wellness
No visit to Phuket would be complete without a bit of self-care — and we’re fortunate to have some of the region’s best spa experiences both on-site and nearby.
At our own Ayurah Spa & Wellness Centre, guests can enjoy a personalised retreat or a simple day of pampering. Our spa offers a range of therapies, including chakra massage, aromatherapy, chromotherapy baths, and oxygen facials — all designed to restore balance in mind, body, and spirit.
Further afield, you might also consider:

- Banyan Tree Spa, situated within Laguna Phuket, offers premium wellness packages in a serene setting.
When the Sun Sets
Phuket is renowned for its vibrant nightlife, offering a diverse range of options, from beach bars to rooftop lounges and dance clubs.
- Seduction Nightclub in Patong is one of the island’s largest venues, boasting multiple floors, international DJs, and an energetic crowd.
- Wassa Homemade Bar is a hidden hillside spot above Patong, offering sweeping views and a perfect setting for a sundowner cocktail.
- Dream Beach Club seamlessly blends poolside lounging with beachfront parties, offering a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere complete with live DJs and signature cocktails.
Beyond the Beach
If you’re up for exploring beyond the coast, the surrounding region is full of adventure.
- Phang Nga Bay, with its limestone karsts and emerald waters, is an easy day trip by boat from the resort — and not to be missed.
- Similan Islands, just north of us, offer some of the best diving and snorkelling in the country, with crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs.
- Khao Sok National Park, a bit further inland, is one of Thailand’s oldest rainforests, home to towering limestone cliffs, jungle trails and the tranquil Cheow Lan Lake.
