Khao Kalok Hill in Hua Hin

Khao Kalok Hill in Hua Hin - Aleenta Hua Hin Resort & Spa

Khao Kalok is a hill found in the beautiful country of Thailand in Southeast Asia. The name means Skull Mountain, although it is a hill. It is also the name of the secluded beach in the area. The beach is known to give the visitors of a glimpse of what it used to be like in the eastern part of the island when it was still not a famous tourist hotspot. The hill itself is ideally situated just southeast of Ban Nong Bua and Ban Prue Yai and is by the east of Ban Nong Yai.

The hill has a height of 88 metres or 289 feet. Although there are some hotels and resorts nearby, it is still considered as one of the most peaceful places in the country. In fact, it is where people, especially couples, go to if they are looking for a private area to explore.

Khao Kalok Hill is just a short distance from the shrine called San Chao Pho Nae Thae, which is precisely seven kilometres to the south of the hill. There are other temples and shrines in the area, including San Chao Ping Thao Kong and San Chao Mae Thapthim Thong.

There are also railroad stations, the Sathani Rotfair Pran Buri and Sathani Rotfai Huai Khwang. Knowing a little about the nearby landmarks will help you get to the hill in no time.

Your Khao Kalok Trip

Khao Kalok is a hill that does not present a lot of challenges. It is perfect for those who want to try just a little bit of hiking. There is no pressure in walking and climbing up as stunning scenery covers the area.

Perhaps one of the biggest reasons why tourists visit the area is because they will be rewarded with the picturesque beach that waits for their arrival. The Khao Kalok beach, which is also called Pak Nam Pran to some people, is just 30 minutes away from the south of Hua Hin village by car. It is easily noticeable that despite the many visitors in the country every year, this place is protected from overcrowding.

Although the beach has been around for years as a holiday getaway, it remains in pristine condition probably because it is not touristy even during peak times. The beach gently curves along its bay, spreading and sweeping around the iconic Skull Mountain or Khao Kalok Hill.

When you reach the Khao Kalok beach, you will see that it not only offers spectacular water views, but you will also love the fact that it is as private as you would like it to be.

Thailand is now a definite favourite of tourists not only from Asia but from all over the world. However, Khao Kalok is one of the few places in the country that will give you a taste of what it was like before other nations discovered the beauty of Thailand, especially the east coast portion of it.

Even better, if you stay in Hua Hin and Pranburi, you will experience holidays that are genuinely invigorating without the need to elbow your way through thick crowds. The south part of the area is the end of the beach (or the bay as the locals call it). You will see the road to the Sam Roi Yod National Park, and from there, you will also observe how the place is centred on making the visitors feel comfortable.

As you travel to the village and the beach, it will not be as hot as the other places – even during summer. You will see that there are pine trees that are lined along the streets, which provide a cooler feeling.

The waters are shallow, so you can enjoy swimming with your entire family, including little kids. The sandy shore is indeed long, which is an excellent opportunity for sweet walks along the beach. Plus, there are not many locals and tourists in the area, so you will feel as if you own this getaway.

Hua Hin has always been blessed with deserted beaches, and Khao Kalok is just one of them. A big bonus is that it is on a hill that combines privacy and comfort. You will not run out of choices and things to do here. Whether you want to go swimming or you want to start strolling up the hill, Khao Kalok has exactly what you are looking for.

Parking places are conveniently located at the foot of the hill. If you would like quick access to the beach, simply head to the southern part. For a relaxing way to end your day, head to an affordable inn, a comfy hotel room, or a luxurious villa – the choice is all yours.
